“Wow, what a fantastic weekend at Field of Dreams! I was in the band that headlined on the Saturday night. We loved every minute of it. Not just the gig, but such a brilliant atmosphere leading up to the evening, wonderful people, great organisers and, of course, some beautiful buses and bugs.

But, there was one couple we were especially sorry not to see there. We had the pleasure of playing their wedding a few months earlier, and as fellow Beetle lovers (air-cooled of course) they would have been right at home. But they were away on their honeymoon. I bumped into them at another show at York race course last week, and they told me how gutted they were to have missed Field of Dreams.

That really summed up the weekend for me. It’s more than just a dub show. It’s a proper community where people genuinely want to get together.

So, yeah, thanks for having us. We will remember it very fondly.”

“I grew up travelling in my grandparent's vans - a red Dormobile and then a coffee and cream Devon Moonraker. Over the years my brother and I would send each other pages from Volksworld or eBay auctions with a comment of 'halfsies?' but never had the time or money to buy our own.

My mum died in 2022 and the possibility of buying a van became real. My partner and I came to our first FOD in 2022 just for a look, and 2 weeks later I'd committed to buy my own Moonraker, with the identical interior to the van of my childhood.

Since then we've been back 3 times and have had the best time. One year a van had a whole team of people removing the engine in a field, so they could get home on Sunday night. This year I met a couple who were part of another FB group where I'd posted 'anyone else here?' and we had a great chat. We also passed on an awning that I'd acquired a year before but was way to big for us, as well as picking up from one of the traders a part from a door lock that we'd not been able to find online, perfect.

It's a great crowd, fab atmosphere and the team have got it just right!”
